Black
Tor GR SX574718
Overlooking the Meavy valley, Black Tor is a fine example of a logan
stone or rocking stone. Sadly when I last visited it the stone seemed
wedged. Maybe I need to eat more Weetabix! Close to Stone row and
tin streaming blowing houses. back |

Trowlesworthy
GR SX 580640
With excellent views to the north and south, this is a fine place
to lose yourself for the afternoon. About a mile from the road, this
tor offers several interesting geological features, such as pink granite
rich in white mica, felsite, and old quarry workings, not to mention
prehistoric hut circles. back |

Little Trowlesworthy
GR SX 577646
What strange peri-glacial process could have created this strange
rock cylinder? Well, it's a base cut for a flag pole which was to
be erected at Devonport in 1820. Trowelesworthy has long been quarried
for its granite. This however stands testimony to a forgotten
project. back |
